Violet Newborn is a Star Artist with the Memphis/Germantown Art League (MGAL), an award-winning social fine art activist, advocate, and instructor based in Memphis, TN. She specializes in using creative expression and journaling as tools for self-reflection, emotional literacy, and healing through the process she calls *Transmutation* the art of transforming emotional pain into beauty, awareness, and connection.
Her technical background spans fine arts disciplines including acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, and collage, often layered with textural elements and narrative composition that bridge traditional technique with expressive storytelling. Violet's paintings and installations reflect her belief that art is not merely a product but a living process of renewal and revelation.
Violet leads workshops designed to help participants explore personal growth, mindfulness, and trauma-informed self-expression through watercolor, mixed media, and collage. Her approach emphasizes process over perfection, creating safe and supportive spaces for artists of all skill levels.
As the founder of Color Your Story Onto Mine (CYSOM), Violet curates and creates healing-centered art that amplifies the voices of survivors, fosters community resilience, and demonstrates the transformative power of art. Through her method, she invites others to alchemize their experiences into purpose, proving that creativity can be a sacred act of restoration.
Violet Newborn is available for private bookings most Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with additional availability by request for weekday sessions.
